So simple and straightforward and yet the Knitterling shows Ingo Maurer’s tongue-in-cheek approach to lighting with a seemingly carelessly tied knot in the cord and “crushed” look.. As always, the craftsmanship is superb: the finest Japanese rice paper provides a softly filtered light and astounding durability for such a delicate shade. The name gives an indication about the look: “Knittern” is German for “wrinkle”. The lamp ships flat and unfolds with its unique “crushed” look.
